Xiaomi to make CES debut with a all-new global product launch

In a bid to build on to its global presence, especially the U.S, Chinese device maker Xiaomi has announced that it will be present at CES 2017, Las Vegas, for the very first time, for a global product launch.

The announcement was made via Xiaomi's Facebook and Twitter pages ― "Hellooo Vegas!, We're heading to CES on 5 Jan for the very first time and we're thrilled to be launching an all-new product globally there. Any guesses? Place your bets now!"

Further the description on the CES website reads "At its CES debut, leading technology company Xiaomi will be showcasing an exciting new product that illustrates how it is pushing the boundaries of innovation."

The two statements doesn't reveal much of Xiaomi's CES plan, and given Xiaomi's huge product portfolio which includes smartphones, accessories, TVs, drone, set-top box, electric scooter, VR headset, smartwatch, fitness products, air purifiers and more, it is difficult to guess what Xiaomi's all new "innovative" product would be.

However, Xiaomi recently unveiled the Mi Note 2 which has support for global LTE bands (6 types, 37 bands), so it is possible Xiaomi could launch Mi Note 2 globally at CES 2017. Moreover, the Mi MIX has been grabbing a lot of attention both in home-market of China and worldwide, so it will be no surprise if Xiaomi shows off the Mi MIX to the international audience at the event.

Xiaomi's CES event is scheduled for January 5 and starts at 11am PT (12:30am IST). Earlier this year, Xiaomi made its debut at MWC 2017, Barcelona to unveil its flagship the Mi 5 and Mi 5 Plus.
