Xiaomi's new smartphone codenamed 'Meri' spotted in benchmarks and live photos

After Redmi Note 4, Redmi 3S, it looks like Xiaomi is reportedly working on a new mid-range smartphone codenamed Meri. The rumored handset have been spotted on Geekbench and AnTuTu benchmarks, and in a handful of live photos.

As per the leaked photos, Meri is shown in a Black color hue with the rear camera along with flash module sitting on top left corner. On the front the phone appears to have a 2.5D glass on top of the screen and there's a physical home button, which could also integrate fingerprint sensor. Overall the design resembles Xiaomi's recently announced Mi 5S.

The AnTuTu listing reveals that Meri will have a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 64GB storage and RockChip SoC with 4 x Cortex A53 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and 4 x Cortex A-53 cores clocked at 1.4GHz. It received a medicore score of 63,581 points.

On the other hand, the Geekbench listing reveals Xiaomi Meri to have 1.4GHz octa-core processor, 3GB RAM and run Android Marshmallow. The device received a score of 578 on a single-core test and 3105 points on multi-core test.

Unfortunately other specs are not available at the moment. Xiaomi has scheduled an event on October 25 to announce its latest premium flagship the Mi Note 2. We can also expect the company to introduce Meri in the event as well.
