Sony Xperia XZ and XZs start getting Android Oreo

Last month Sony begun the process of rolling out Android Oreo starting with Xperia XZ Premium. Now it has rolled out Oreo update for the Xperia XZ and Xperia XZs.

The Oreo update arrives with the build number 41.3.A.0.401 and weighs at around 1232MB. The same build number is said to hit the Xperia X Performance shortly.

The update brings Oreo native goodies such as Picture-in-Picture (PiP), notification channels, adaptive icons, notification dots, smart text selection, Autofill API and more. It also includes November Android security patch.

In addition Sony has added few of its own functions such as Xperia Reminders and Xperia Actions. Xperia Reminders offers prompts for unfinished tasks such as emails in drafts and messages, while Xperia Actions intelligently suggests actions based on your usage with all new games and community features.

The Oreo update for Xperia XZ and XZs is rolling out in phases, so it will take some time to reach all units. You'll be notified if the update is available for your phone, or else, you can check for it manually by heading to Settings>About Phone>System Update.
