MIUI 9 global roll out begins; Here's the features and list of eligible devices


Earlier today, Xiaomi launched the Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite in India. In addition, the China based device maker also announced roll out details of MIUI 9 stable ROM for existing devices as well as the new Redmi Y1 and Y1 Lite.

Xiaomi said that MIUI 9 will start rolling out to select devices including Redmi Note 4, Redmi Note 4X and Mi Max 2 starting November 3. The update will roll out over-the-air and when it is available for your Xiaomi device, you'll be notified, or else, you can go the "Updater app" and check for the update.

When will my phone get MIUI 9?
  • From tomorrow, November 3 – Redmi Note 4 (Qualcomm) / Redmi Note 4X and Mi Max 2
  • From mid-November – Mi MIX 2, Redmi Y1, Redmi Y1 Lite, Redmi 4X, Mi 5 and Mi Max
  • From Early December – All the other phones including Mi Mix, Mi 2 and later, Mi Note and later, Redmi Note 4G and later, Redmi 2 and later
