Google release November security patch for Nexus and Pixel devices


Google has released November security patch for its Nexus and Pixel devices. The patch level labeled as 2017-11-06 has numerous fixes related to Framework, Media framework, System and components including fix for the KRACK WPA2 WiFi vulnerability that was discovered last month, to make your device more stable and secure.

Google says it has also fixed a "critical security vulnerability" that was discovered within the Media framework for Android, which could turn on a remote attacker with a specially crafted file to execute arbitrary code within the context of a privileged process.

There are three different patch dates this month: November 1, November 5 and November 6. The November 1 patch fixes 11 security issues, the November 5 fixes additional 11, and the November 6 has fixes for nine issues. If you get November 5 update, you device has every issues addressed by the November 1 update, while devices that receive December 6 patch level, have all the November fixes as previous patch levels.

As usual, the November 6, 2017 security patch is available to download for pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel, Pixel, XL, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Pixel C and Nexus Player.

If you want the update right away, you can download and flash the factory images, or you can wait till the OTA update is available for your device.
