Google promises three years of Android software update for the Pixel 2


Google unveiled the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL on Wednesday, and it  not only offers premium design, powerful performance and great camera, but also fluid Android experience.

Now according to Google Store listing of these devices, Google plans to release three years of Android software updates  for both. This is one year more than the original Pixel phones, as Google said, it would update these phone (original Pixel) for "at least two years from when the device first became available on the Google Store." 

This possibly means that Pixel 2 phones will get three Android software updates (P, Q, R). It also promises three years of security updates to Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, but that's already available for the original Pixel phones as well. 

To recap the specs, the Pixel 2 phones come with Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB/128GB storage options and 12.2MP/8MP camera. They runs Android Oreo out of the box, and feature Active Edge function, IP67 water and dust resistance rating and fingerprint scanner.

Individually, the Pixel 2 has 5-inch Full HD display and 2700mAh battery, whereas the Pixel 2 XL has 6-inch QHD+ pOLED 18:9 display and 3520mAh battery.
