BSNL announces Rs. 8 & Rs. 15 rate cutter packs to offer low cost voice calls

BSNL a few days back launched Rs. 429 prepaid pack that offered 90GB data (1GB FUP/day) and unlimited local and STD voice calls for 90 days. Now the state owned telecom operator has announced two new "rate cutter" packs for its prepaid customer to offer low cost voice calls.

The new BSNL packs are priced at Rs. 8 and Rs. 15 and have “no liability of paying any large amount of fixed monthly charges,”.

The Rs. 8 pack comes with 30 days validity, and lowers the tariff on-net calls (BSNL's network) to 15 paisa per minute on pan-India basis. Calls to other networks will be charged at 35 paisa per minute.

The Rs. 15 pack on the other hand offer the same tariffs, but its validity is of 90 days. Unless specified, both rate cutter packs will work in addition to the talk time packs. 

Recently Airtel also launched similar packs of Rs. 8 and Rs. 15. The Rs. 8 pack gives local and STD calls (all networks) at 30 paisa per minute for 54 days, while Rs. 15 pack offers voice calling at 10 paisa per minute for 27 days (all networks).
