Western Digital outs massive 20TB desktop storage system


Western Digital has announced My Book Duo external desktop storage system with 20TB storage, the highest capacity system it has ever made. With such capacity you'll be able to store colossal amounts of contents in one location.

The RAID-optimized storage system delivers speeds of up to 360 MB/s sequential reads. It houses a USB Type-C port (supports USB 3.1 Gen 1/3.0/2.0) and two additional USB 3.0 Type-A hub ports for connecting additional accessories, including drones, action cameras, card readers, keyboards, mice, USB drives or phone syncing and charging. The retail box will include both USB Type-C to Type-C and Type-C to Type-A cables.

It also comes with password protection and 256-bit AES hardware encryption with WD Security software built in to help keep private content secure.


The 20TB version of My Book Duo storage system is not cheap and will set you back by $849.99. Western Digital is also selling 16TB, 12TB, 8TB, 6TB and 4TB versions as well. 

They are priced at $629.99 (16TB), $439.99 (12TB), $349.99 (8TB), 299.99 (6TB) and 279.99 (4TB). They are backed by three-year limited warranty and available now from wd.com and at select retailers and distributors around the world.
