Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) starts receiving Android Nougat

After treating the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note line to Nougat, Samsung has started rolling out Android Nougat for the Galaxy A7 (2017). The update is being rolled out in Thailand, but other countries should receive it soon. To recall, the higher mid-range phone was launched running Android Marshmallow.

The update with firmware version A720FXXU2BQGB weighs at 1394.40MB and improves speed and reliability of the Galaxy A7 (2017). Along with native Nougat features like multi-window support, new emoji, the update brings newer user interface, improved notifications, quick setting button, newer settings menu, Samsung Pass and more. 

It also adds Dual Messenger feature, that will allow users to setup two separate accounts for the same social networking or instant messaging apps on the device.

Since this is a major update, make sure your Galaxy A7 (2017) is connected to a stable WiFi connection, and have enough battery battery of at-least 50 percent before beginning the upgrade process.

To recall, the Galaxy A7 (2017) was announced back in January, and arrived in India in March. The specs include 5.7-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, 1.9GHz octa-core Exynos 7880 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, 16MP front and rear camera, 4G VoLTE, USB Type-C and 3600mAh battery. It has a fingerprint scanner, and also is IP68 rated for water and dust resistance.

Currently, the Galaxy A7 (2017) is selling for Rs. 33,490 in India, and is available for Samsung India eStore and offline retail stores.
