LG V30 to flaunt 6-inch QHD+ OLED FullVision display with narrow bezels, Gorilla Glass 5

Just yesterday, it was reported that LG's upcoming V30 flagship will have 6-inch OLED Full Vision display. And now LG has officially confirmed this via a press release.

LG says that the LG V30 will feature 6-inch QHD+ plastic OLED FullVision display. It will also have a layer of Gorilla Glass 5 to make the screen shatter-resistant.

This is the largest screen size for LG in four year, while the actual body will be smaller than last years V20. It will have 20 percent less upper and 50 percent less lower bezels compared to V20, and the logo will be placed on the back, to utilize the full front panel, for a bezel-less design to maximize viewable screen space. This also indicates that the signature secondary ticker screen is getting the axe.

Explaining the benefits of plastic OLED FullVision display, LG says that the edges can be curved to allow for a more ergonomic design and a better feel in the hand. It will also offer support for Virtual reality, HDR 10, and faster response time, better battery life and durability.

Thanks to various bezel-less technology, phones are now offering 6-inch screen on a body with smaller footprint, making it comfortable to hold. The Mi MIX and Galaxy S8+ have more than 6-inch screen. Moreover, Samsung's Galaxy Note8, Apple's iPhone 8, Google's Pixel XL 2 and Sony's next flagship, all are expected to have a screen size of 6-inch and up and bezel-less design.

According to earlier reports, the LG V30 will feature floating bar that will provide quick access to shortcuts and notifications, Snapdragon 835, 4GB RAM, dual-cameras at the back with f/1.6 aperture, rear mounted fingerprint scanner, IP68 water and dust resistance, military standard protection, USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack, new Quad DAC audio chip and 3300mAh battery.

The LG V30 will be officially announced on August 31 at IFA 2017, Berlin. The event will kick-off 9am CEST (12:30pm IST). Rumors say that the V30 will hit the market on September 28, with pre-orders opening on September 17 (US).
