Samsung W2018 flip phone to reportedly boast Snapdragon 835, 6GB RAM


Samsung for the past few years have been releasing a flagship flip phone with premium design and high-end hardware. Last year it launched the W2017 flip phone powered by Snapdragon 820. Now details of its successor has hit the interweb.

The new model was reportedly certified by China’s regulatory agency TENAA a few months ago, and was listed with 4GB RAM and last year's Snapdragon 821 chip. However,a tipster originating from China has revealed its hardware, and if the claims are true, the flip phone will have powerful innards.

The upcoming W2018 is said pack the hardware of Galaxy S8 line. It will feature Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform, 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.

Similar to last years W2017, the new model is expected to have dual touch display on the front and inside, with a 4.2-inch screen with Full HD display resolution and Super AMOLED panel. It is also expected to feature improved camera (possible Galaxy S8's 12MP rear & 8MP front), fingerprint sensor, heart rate sensor and run Android Nougat.

The Samsung W2018 will be targeted at the premium smartphone market segment and is expected to carry a price tag of around $2000 (Rs. 1,29,000). It is likely to be announced in Q4,2017.
