Toshiba's new ultra-portable Protege X30 offers 18 hours of battery life


Toshiba has introduced its latest business oriented ultra-portable notebook called Protege X30, that measures at 15.9mm thin (0.62-inches) and weighs at just 2.3 pounds. Even with the light weight slim design, the notebook promises an impressive battery life of up to 18 hours.

The notebook is encased in a magnesium alloy "Tough Body" chassis with shock-absorbing measures and a patented honeycomb reinforcement technology for increased durability. It has also passed the Mil-SPEC-810G standard for extreme temperature, vibration, shock, humidity, drop and dust.

The Toshiba Protege X30 features 13.3-inch Full HD touchscreen display and is powered by 7th-gen Intel Core processor, with up to 16GB RAM and up to 512GB PCIe SSD.

As for ports, it gets two USB type-C, USB 3.0 port, an HDMI port, headphone/mic combo and a microSD card slot. It supports WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth for wireless connectivity.


Since, the laptop is targeted at business', it comes with enterprise-level security features like face authentication, fingerprint reader, trusted platform module, bitlocker drive encryption, device guard, credential guard, smart card reader and security lock slot solutions.

The Toshiba Protege X30 runs Windows 10 Pro, and starts at $1499 and is available for purchase at the company's website. It is backed by a three-year warranty.
