Xiaomi was rumored to unveil its flagship the Mi 6 in April. Now putting an end to all rumors, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun in a live session with Mi fans has confirmed that the Mi 6 will launch this month. However, Jun didn't reveal the exact date of Mi 6 announcement, but that expected dates are April 11, April 16 or April 18.

Recently, the Mi 6 passed China's 3C (Compulsory Certification of China) with codename MCE16, pointing at an imminent launch.

Previous rumors have suggested that Xiaomi Mi 6 will sport a new design and have waterproof body. The Mi 6 is expected to come in two versions, the regular Mi 6 with 5.15-inch Full HD AMOLED display, and the Mi 6 Plus with a bigger 5.7-inch QHD display. Both will be powered by Snapdragon 835 processor and run Android Nougat based MIUI 8.

The MI 6 will have 4GB/6GB RAM options, 32GB/64GB/128GB storage options, 19MP  Sony IMX400 sensor/8MP cameras and 3200mAh battery, while the Mi 6 Plus will have 6GB RAM and comes with 64GB/128GB storage options, dual 12MP Sony IMX362/8MP cameras and 4500mAh battery. Both phones will have their fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button.

Note that Xiaomi has not confirmed these specs, so take it with a pinch of sale. More details can be expected to come out in the coming days.
