Xiaomi forays into Russia with Mi MIX, Mi Note 2 and Redmi 4X


Xiaomi has officially entered Russia, the largest country in the world, this week, with the launch of three of its most popular smartphones, the innovative bezel-less Mi Mix, the power-house Mi Note 2 and the budget Redmi 4X, reaffirming the importance of the Russian market. Xiaomi's Senior VP Wang Xiang attended the Mi launch event in Moscow.

Prior to the official entry, the Chinese smartphone maker was selling its products in Russia through a partnership with distributor RDC.

The Xiaomi Mi MIX, Mi Note 2 and Redmi 4X will be available both online, with promotions on RDC's official website, as well as in stores starting April 26. The Redmi 4X will also be available at operators and stores of major retail partners.

Coming to the pricing, the Mi MIX (6GB/256GB) is priced at RUB 39,990 ($700 | Rs. 45,000), the Mi Note 2 (6GB+128GB) at RUB 34,990 ($613 | Rs. 39,400) and the Redmi 4X will cost RUB 19,990 ($350 | Rs. 22,500).

Xiaomi started its global expansion three years ago, and is selling its products in over 20 countries and regions including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, India, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Brazil, Vietnam, UAE and more. 

However, the most important market for Xiaomi is India, where it has been making waves for the past couple of months with its budget smartphones like Redmi Note 3, Redmi 3, Redmi Note 4 and Redmi 4. The company started selling its devices, online, and later in a bid to expand its consumer base started selling offline as well. Currently, Xiaomi is on of the top five smartphone brand in the country.
