HTC's squeezable U phone will launch on May 16


There have been several leaks of the HTC's upcoming flagship HTC U. Now the company has confirmed that it will officially unveil the HTC U on May 16 in Taiwan. HTC has a dedicated launch page as well, for the HTC U on its website, where it will live stream the event.

HTC has also shared a teaser of the phone with the tagline "Squeeze for the brilliant" a hint confirming that HTC U will sport pressure sensitive frame for a feature called Edge Sense. This feature allows users to squeeze the edges of the phone to perform different actions like taking photos, opening apps and more.



According to earlier reports, HTC U will come with 5.5-inch QHD display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection, Snapdragon 835 chip, two RAM/ROM variant: 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB (China variant) , 12MP main camera, 16MP front camera, Android 7.1 and 3000mAh battery. Also like HTC U Ultra, the HTC U will ditch the headphone jack in favor of USB Type-C audio. Additionally  recent leak suggests that HTC U will have Bluetooth 5.0, IP57 water-resistant rating and single/dual SIM options
