Cube outs i35 Thinker, iWork 3X with Microsoft's Surface Pro/Book like display


Chinese device maker Cube has introduced  Cube i35 Thinker notebook and Cube iWork 3X 2-in-1 tablet positioned as an affordable alternatives to Microsoft's $1499 Surface Book and $1,299 Surface Pro 4 tablet respectively.

The Cube i35 Thinker is priced at $700 and is available from Cube's AliExpress Store, and should soon be available on Gearbest as well. The Cube iWork 3X 2-in-1 tablet on the other hand costs CNY 1999 ($290) in China, but should sell for around $360 internationally.

The Cube i35 Thinker has a 13.5-inch IPS touch panel, and just like the Surface Book sports 3000 x 2000 pixels display, which can fold back 180-degress . It is equipped with Core M3-7Y30 Kaby Lake processor and is equipped with 8GB RAM and 256 SSD. There's also a powerful model, slated for a release soon, featuring Intel Core i5 Kaby Lake processor and $1016 price tag.


The notebook includes 2 x USB 3.0 ports, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0, stereo speakers, 2MP webcam, fingerprint scanner and 3.5mm audio jack. There's also a USB Type-C port for data transfer and charging. It ships with Windows 10, and measures 12.3" x 9.4" x 0.6" and weighs 1.2kg.


Cube iWork 3X 2-in-1 tablet
The Cube iWork 3X looks much like the Surface Pro 4 tablet, but comes with less powerful hardware. The tablet features 2736 x 1824 pixels 12.3-inch IPS display and is powered by Intel's quad-core Celeron N3450 Apollo Lake processor with 6GB DDR3 RAM and 128GB SSD. It has HDMI, a USB Type-C port, a microSD card slot and 8500mAh battery, that should provide around 6 hours of battery life.


It has a built-in adjustable kickstand so you can prop it up on a tablet, and the tablet is designed to work with a keyboard cover, which will be sold seperately. The Cube iWork 3X 2-in-1 tablet measures 11.8" x 7.1" x 0.4" inches and weighs about 1kg.
