Windows 10 Creators Update roll out to begin April 11

Microsoft has announced that the Windows 10 Creators update will start rolling out on April 11 to users around the world. The release falls on the same day as  its April Patch Tuesday security release.

The Creators Update will be a free update to those already running Windows 10. Like the Anniversary update, the Creators update will roll out in a phased manner, so don't expect the update to hit your Windows 10 laptop on the same day. However if you can't wait for the update, you can manually download and install the images of Windows 10 Creators Update Build 15063.

Creators update includes new features like like Night Light (to reduce blue light emitted by the screen), tab previews for Edge, additional security capabilities, improvements to Cortana, Picture-in-Picture view and much more. It also brings Beam streaming to the Windows 10 Xbox app, Game Mode which is designed to ensure the games run at the best frame rate possible and a new 3D paint app that lets you create, share and experience in 3D and mixed reality.

The update was expected to include People integration and Windows Mixed Reality support, but these features have been pushed back until later this year.  

Now that the Creators Update is getting its official release in a few days, the focus will shift to Microsoft's next major update to Windows 10, which will be out later this year. The company is expected to reveal more details about the second update at its Build developers conference in May.
