Samsung Galaxy A5 2017, A7 2017 launched in India


Samsung is launching two members of its premium mid-range Galaxy A (2017) line up in India. The Galaxy A5 and A7 2017 brings Samsung's last year flagship, Galaxy S7's premium metal and glass design with a touch of IP68 rating for water and dust resistance at a budget.

The Galaxy A5 (2017) and A7 (2017) come in Black Sky and Gold Sand colors, are priced at Rs. 28,990 and Rs. 33,490, respectively and will be available across the country from March 15. Users can pre-book the smartphones starting March 7 via the Samsung e-store as well as offline retailers.

The Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 2017 edition pack the same set of specs, but are differentiated by the screen sizes and battery capacity. The Galaxy A5 2017 features 5.2-inch screen and 3000mAh battery, while the Galaxy A7 2017 has a bigger 5.7-inch screen and 3600mAh battery.

Both comes with Full HD Super AMOLED display with Corning's Gorilla Glass 4 protection, and are powered by 1.9GHz octa-core Exynos 7880 processor backed by Mali-T830 GPU and 3GB RAM. On-board storage capacity is 32GB, which can be expanded via the dedicated microSD card slot.

For photography, there's 16MP front and rear camera with f/1.9 aperture. In terms of connectivity, they have dual-SIM slots, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, NFC (for Samsung Pay) and USB Type-C port.

The phone runs Android Marshmallow and will also have support for Samsung Pay India soon. Other features include LED flash for primary camera, Always-on display, fingerprint scanner (baked into the home button) and fast charging.
