Xiaomi is reportedly working on the successor of the Mi Max, which featured a large display of 6.44-inch size and a bigger battery.

According to a rumor coming out of China, the Mi Max 2 will feature the same 6.44-inch Full HD display as the Mi Max, but get upgraded internals. It is said to be powered by Qualcomm's yet to be announced Snapdragon 660 chip and come with 4GB/6GB RAM, 64GB/128GB storage and 5000mAh battery.

Other expected specs/features include Android Nougat based MIUI skin, fingerprint scanner, 4G LTE, hybrid dual-SIM slots and fast charging support.

To refresh, the original Xiaomi Mi Max was launched in India back in June last year with Snapdragon 650 chip, 3GB RAM/32GB storage, 16MP/5MP cameras, 4850mAh battery and 14,999 price tag. There's also a high-end model called Mi Max Prime priced at Rs. 19,999 and features Snapdragon 652 processor, 4GB RAM and 128GB storage.

The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is rumored to be officially announced sometime in May, the same month its predecessor was launched. Note that, the authenticity of the leak remains to be verified, so take the rumor with a pinch of salt.
