Nokia to announce three Android phones, modern version of 3310 at MWC 2017

HMD Global the new home of Nokia devices is all set to take the MWC 2017, Barcelona by storm. The company has scheduled an event for February 26 two announce new Nokia devices. Now according a new report, a total of four Nokia-branded devices will make its debut globally including a modern version of the iconic Nokia 3310.

VentureBeat's Evan Blass reports that HMD Global will be unveiling three budget Android Nougat powered smartphones - Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and the global variant of Nokia 6 at MWC on February 26.

The Nokia 3 will be an entry-level smartphone priced at €149 ($157 | Rs. 10,500), while the Nokia 5 will be a toned down version of Nokia 6 and feature 5.2-inch HD display, Snapdragon 430 processor, 2GB RAM, 12MP main camera and €199 ($211 | Rs. 14,000) price tag.

The Nokia 6 was exclusive to China market, but the report says that HMD will launch it globally with a price tag of €249 ($264 | Rs. 17,700) . To recap, the Nokia 6 was launched earlier this year as China-exclusive and the phone has been selling like hot cakes, selling out within minutes. The Nokia 6 features 5.5-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 430 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, 16MP/8MP cameras and 3000mAh battery. The global version is expected to pack same specs.

Lastly, the Nokia 3310 will get a 2016 refresh and a modern touch. The feature phone was launched back in 2000 and earned a reputation as a workhorse, thanks to its sturdy build, addictive Snake game and battery life. There are nodetails of how the modern version of Nokia 3310 will look like or what it will offer, but according to the report it will cost €59 ($62 | Rs. 4,200).
