Nokia finally entered into the global smartphone market courtesy of HMD Global with the Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6 Android smartphones, alongside the 2017 edition of the iconic Nokia 3310. These handsets were announced at MWC, and at the event it was revealed that the phone will hit the market by Q2.

Now according to media reports, the new range of Nokia branded Android smartphones as well as the Nokia 3310 will arrive in India by June this year.

The report further states that the prices of the new Nokia range devices will likely be lower than those globally, as all the phone will be manufactured locally by Foxconn. To refresh, the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 are priced at INR equivalent for Rs. 9,800, Rs. 13,300 and Rs. 16,000 respectively, while the Nokia 3300 is priced Rs. 4000.

The Nokia 3, 5, 6 will support dual-SIM functionality and support Jio's 4G VoLTE networks as well.

The new Nokia devices will be available in the country through offline stores through a network of distribution partners as well as online. HDM Global's greater focus will be on after sales services as well, for which it will have a network of service centre across India.

Nokia's aim is to become one of the top three smartphone player in the country in the coming years. However, analysts suggest that Nokia will have a tough time in the country's smartphone market, given the intense competition, especially from Lenovo/Moto and Xiaomi in price categories, Nokia will launch its devices.
