Intex Aqua Lions 4G with VoLTE, Android Marshmallow launched at Rs. 5,499

Intex is upgrading all its older 3G smartphones, adding support for 4G and VoLTE, the latest one being Intex Aqua Lions.

The Aqua Lion 3G was launched last year, and was a phone designed for fans of Gujrat Lions, an IPL team owned by Intex. It only supported 3G networks, but the new Aqua Lions model support both 4G and VoLTE.

The addition of 4G and VoLTE comes at a cost. The Aqua Lions 3G packed HD display and 3000mAh battery, but the Aqua Lions 4G gets only FWVGA display and a smaller 2000mAh battery. However, it gets an OS bump and runs Android Marshmallow, instead of Lollipop found on the 3G model.

Other specs remain unchanged, that includes 5-inch (480 x 854 pixels) display, 1.3GHz quad-core Spreadtrum processor (w/ Mali 400 GPU), 1GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt storage, 5MP rear camera and 2MP front camera. It comes with dual-SIM slots and support 4G, VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS.

The 2000mAh battery inside is rated to deliver up to eight hours of talk time and up to 350 hours of standby time.

The Intex Aqua Lions 4G is priced at Rs. 5,499 and will be available from online and offline channels soon.
