Samsung to reportedly unveil Galaxy S8 on March 29, price tipped

A report last month said that Samsung is delaying the launch of Galaxy S8, and instead of MWC, will unveil the flagship at a dedicated event in New York in April. However, now a new report claims that the launch will take place in March.

Reliable tipster @Ricciolo1 claims that the South Korean tech giant will unveil the Galaxy S8 at a Galaxy unpacked event taking place on March 29. He also says that Samsung will showcase the Galaxy S8 to select attendees at MWC, which is scheduled between February 27 and March, following a public unveiling on March 29.

The source further reveals that Galaxy S8 will be available starting $849 (Rs. 58,000) for the base model, and will go on sale in the week between April 24 and April 30.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 will reportedly arrive in two models ― the Galaxy S8 with 5.2-inch Super AMOLED 2K display and Galaxy S8 Plus with a phablet grade 6.2-inch 2K screen. Both models will sport curved dual-edged screen with slim bezels, and the fingerprint sensor will be baked under the display.

It will feature Snapdragon 835 processor, 6GB RAM, up to 256GB storage and highest IP68 water and dust resistance rating. The rear camera is said to be a 12MP unit, while the camera on the front is a 8MP unit sporting ultra-thin lens and boast auto-focus capabilities. Obviously it will run Android Nougat.
