Hot on the wheels of the launch of Tango-enabled ZenFone AR and dual-camera totting ZenFone 3 Zoom at CES 2017, Asus has announced an upgraded variant of ZenFone Pegasus 3 in China dubbed ZenFone Pegasus 3S.

The ZenFone Pegasus 3 was launched in June last year and packed 4100mAh battery, but the upgraded Pegasus 3S gets a beefier 5000mAh battery. It also gets improved processor, a new storage option, and an improved front camera.

The Asus ZenFone Pegasus 3S sports a 5.2-inch HD IPS 2.5D curved glass display and is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor paired with 3GB RAM. Asus is offering two storage options ― 32GB and 64GB, which can also be expanded via microSD card.

It boots Android Nougat out of the box and has a fingerprint sensor, that is baked into the home button. For photography, it gets 13MP PDAF rear camera with dual-LED flash and 8MP front shooter for selfies and video calling.

Connectivity features include dual-SIM slots, 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. The 5000mAh battery inside promises to deliver up to 30 days of standby time and 48 hours of usage. There's also support for fast charging.

The Asus ZenFone Pegasus 3S will be available in China later this month carrying a price tag of CNY 1999 ($290 | Rs. 20,000) for the 64GB storage model. The price of 32GB model is not known.
