Metal clad Moto M launching in India on December 13

For quite some time, Moto India was teasing the launch of the metal-clad Moto M smartphone. Now the company has officially announced that the phone will launch in India on December 13.

To recall, the Moto M was unveiled in China last month, and made its global debut with UAE market. It comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, which is a first for Moto phone. Previous Moto phones like Moto Z and Moto G4 Plus have a dedicated fingerprint scanner at the front below the display.

The China version of Moto M is powered by MediaTeks's Helio P15 processor and comes with 4GB RAM and 32GB storage. The global variant uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon 617 chip and comes in two version 3GB RAM/32GB storage and 4GB RAM/64GB storage. It is unclear which variant or version will be launched in India.

As far as other specs are concerned, the Moto M features 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display, 16MP/8MP cameras, 4G LTE, USB Type-C port, dual-SIM slots and Dolby Atmos powered speakers. It boots Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is backed by 3050mAh battery with fast charging support. Color options are Gold and Silver.

The Moto M is available in China for a equivalent of Rs. 20,000 (CNY 1999), so we expect the India pricing to be around that.
