Xiaomi Mi 5c specs leaked, might feature home grown Pinecone SoC


Xiaomi's upcoming Mi 5c smartphone codenamed Meri is turning out to be an interesting device. It will reportedly use in-house processor, marking Xiaomi's entry into the chip market and joining the likes of Samsung and Huawei, who make processors for their smartphones.

Xiaomi's processor reportedly called PineCone is built on 14nm process and carries an octa-core 2.2GHz CPU and Mali-T860. As mentioned earlier the Mi 5c will be the first smartphone to be equipped with PineCone processor.

Other rumored specs of Mi 5c include 5.5-inch Full HD display, 3GB RAM, 64GB storage 12MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, 4G LTE, 802.11ac WiFi, dual-SIM slots, USB Type-C, fingerprint scanner and 4500mAh battery. It will run MIUI 8 based Android 6.0 Marshmallow. We already known what Mi 5c will look like thanks to leaked alleged live photos (1 | 2).

The Mi 5c is rumored to carry a price tag of CNY 999 ($145 | Rs. 1000) and announced on November 30, if not then sometime in December. Note that Xiaomi is yet to official confirm the details mentioned above, so take the news with a pinch of salt.
