MSI Trident is a console-sized VR ready mini gaming PC


MSI latest offering to gamers is a new VR ready mini desktop PC called Trident, which it claims to be the world’s smallest VR ready gaming PC. It looks like a gaming console and comes with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card (3GB/6GB GDDR5), custom cooling system and 230 watt power supply.

The MSI Trident features sixth generation Intel Skylake processor, with the choice of Core i5-6400 and Core i7-6700 CPU. It comes with 2 x SODIMM slots that can support up to 32GB DDR4-2133 RAM, a 2.5-inch SATA drive bay for HDD and SDD and M.2 SATA SSD slot.

Even though, Trident has a small form factor it houses plenty of ports which includes a USB 3.1 Type-C ports, 6 x USB 3.1 Type-A ports, 4 x USB 2.0 Type-A ports, HDMI port and Gigabit Ethernet. There's WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.2 for wireless connectivity.

The mini PC features MSI's Silent Storm Cooling 2 technology which separates key components of the PC into separate chambers with a fan helping to keep the CPU, memory and GPU from overheating and offer quieter operation.

It also has MSI's Gaming Mystic Light RGB LEDs and comes with a stand, allowing it to be used in both vertical and horizontal position.

The MSI Trident will be available later this month starting at $899 for the pre-configured system and $599 for the barebones model.
