Moto Z, Moto Z Force are DayDream ready with Android Nougat

Motorola has announced that the global roll out of Android Nougat update for its Moto Z and Moto Z Force will start this week.

The Nougat update will bring features like split screen mode, quick app switching, quick setting customization, data save mode and more including November 1, 2016 security patch.

However the main highlight is that with Android 7.0 Nougat Moto Z and Moto Z Force will be compatible with Google's DayDream platform for high-quality, mobile VR. This makes Moto Z and Moto Force first smartphones (from another manufacturer) apart from Google Pixel, Pixel XL to support the DayDream platform.

To experience DayDream, users will need to have Daydream compatible headset. For now there's only one headset in the market to support DayDream platform built by Google called View VR headset. It comes with a controller and at present is available only in the U.S.

A few days back the U.S version of Moto Z/ Z Force ―  Moto Z Droid and Moto Z Droid Force exclusive to Verizon also started receiving Android Nougat update OTA also adding support for DayDream platform.

Besides Moto Z and Moto Z Force, Motorola has already confirmed that Nougat update will be available for Moto Z Play, Moto G4/G4 Plus, Moto G4 Play and Moto X Style/Play/Force among others.
