Meizu M3X with Helio P20 SoC, 12MP sony camera announced


Besides the premium top end Pro 6 Plus, Meizu also unveiled a mid-range smartphone dubbed M3X in China. It sports a glass back with ceramic crystal coating that dazzles when light is reflected, which comes in Pearl White, Phantom Blue, Gold and Obsidian Black color. Similar to other Meizu smartphone, the M3X has mTouch 2.1 fingerprint sensor that is embedded into the home button for making payments using Alipay and WeChat.

Coming to the specs, the Meizu M3X is the first smartphone to use MediaTek's Helio P20 chip that carries and octa-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz and ARM Mali T880 GPU. It will be available in two variants: 3GB RAM/32GB storage and 4GB RAM/64GB storage.

The Meizu M3X has a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) LCD 2.5D curved glass display and the camera department includes 12MP Sony IMX386 rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, PDAF and 4K video recording capabilities. The front facing camera for snapping selfies and video calling is a 5MP shooter.


Connectivity duties are handled by dual-SIM slots, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS and USB Type-C. It runs Android Marshmallow based Flyme OS and is fueled by 3200mAh battery with fast charging support the gives you 40 percent of charge with just 30 minutes of recharge.

The Meizu M3X costs CNY 1699 ($247 | Rs. 17,000) for the 3GB RAM/32GB storage model and CNY 1999 ($290 | Rs. 20,000) for the 4GB RAM/64GB storage model. It will go on sale in China from December 8.
