LG starts rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat update to the G5

LG has announced that they have started rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat for the LG G5. The roll out will start in LG's home market of South Korea, followed by Americas, Asia and other market in the weeks to come.

LG claims that it is the first company to roll out Nougat to an existing smartphone running Android Marshmallow. The LG V20 that was launched last month was also the first smartphone to ship with Android Nougat.

LG says that Android Nougat will offer "a range of new features designed to enhance the user experience and deliver more speed and convenience to G5 owners". These include in-app searching, multi-window mode (switch between with double tap or run two apps sided by side),  personalized settings and smarter notifications.

Users will receive notifications on their G5 when the Android Nougat update is available.
