Apple iPhone 8 may come with curved OLED display

Apple's next gen iPhones has been the subject of numerous rumors and reports since the beginning of this year. Multiple reports have claimed that the iPhone 8 will have a curved OLED display.

Now Wall Street Journal, corroborating with earlier reports, says that the 2017 iPhone might come with curved OLED screen. The report also says that Apple is testing “more than 10 prototypes” of the new iPhone and one of them could be OLED version of iPhone.

Apple has also reportedly asked suppliers to increase production of thinner OLED displays, and have been asked to submit their portotype OLED screens with better resolutions than Samsung's display, which is currently used on iPhones.

Apple is expected to bring major design changes to the next years' iPhone that will mark its 10th anniversary. If the OLED iPhone model makes it to production, it will be a more premium iPhone model and could cost $50 more than regular LCD models.

Apple is also expected to unveil LCD variants of iPhone with 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screens, and the 4.7-inch model will be marketed as an mid-range and affordable iPhone. Also rumored is the introduction of wireless charging as well.
