Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime goes on sale in India for Rs. 18,790

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy J7 Prime in Vietnam last week. Now the phone is available from retail stores in India for Rs. 18,790, according to Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom. Note that Samsung is yet to make an official announcement and hasn't listed the phone on its website.

The Galaxy J7 Prime comes with 5.5-inch 1080p display with a layer of 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection and is powered by 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7870 processor with 3GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt storage, which can be further expanded via microSD card.

It gets 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and f/1.9 aperture, and 8-megapixel front facing camera. There's also a fingerprint sensor on the front baked into the home button. In terms of connectivity, the phone supports dual-SIM slots 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS.

It runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and comes loaded with Samsung's NFC-based S-Bike mode. A 3300mAh battery keeps the whole package running.

Considering the price and specs, the Galaxy J7 Prime will compete with likes of Gionee S6s (Rs. 17,999) and Oppo F1s (Rs.17,990) among others.
