Samsung Galaxy C9 with Snapdragon 652 SoC, 6GB RAM spotted on Geekbench and AnTuTu

Just a few days back, reports surfaced that Samsung is expanding its 'Galaxy C' smartphone line up with three new models. One of them Galaxy C9 with model number SM-C9000 was spotted on Zauba with a bigger 6-inch screen. Now the smartphone has surfaced in Geekbench and AnTuTu benchmark listing.

According to Geekbench/AnTuTu, the Galaxy C9 will be Samsung's first smartphone to pack 6GB RAM. However, it will not be a flagship device, since the processor being utilized is octa-core Snapdragon 652 SoC, which is utilized by mid-range smartphones. Other features of Galaxy C9 include 1080p display (6-inch according to Zauba), 64GB inbuilt storage, 16MP front & rear camera and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

Previously multiple reports had suggested that Galaxy Note7 will have a version with 6GB RAM exclusive to China to take on local vendors, but with the battery exploding fiasco, that appears not to happen. Instead Samsung might release the Galaxy C9 and pit it against the likes of OnePlus, Meizu, LeEco, who have already released 6GB RAM phones at a competitive price. Xiaomi is also expected to unveil it's first 6GB RAM phone on October 27 as well. It's worth mentioning that the Galaxy C series has been exclusive to China market and is yet to be released world-wide.

As of now it is not known when Galaxy C9 will be officially announced. Apart from Galaxy C9, Samsung is also expected to release upgraded Galaxy C5 and C7 models dubbed as Galaxy C5 Pro and Galaxy C7 Pro.
