Chrome for Android gets data saver for videos, ability to download entire webpage

Google introduced a new data saver mode on Chrome for Android last year, which saved up to 70 percent of your data by compressing images and texts.

Now data saver has expanded to video as well, which allows you to save 67 percent of your data when viewing MP4 video formats on Chrome browser for Android. Thanks to the new optimization, web pages on Chrome browser (for Android) will load two time faster and also save up to 90 percent of your data if you're on 2G or 3G network.

Chrome for Android is getting another feature where users can download entire web pages, including music, pictures or videos on Chrome. The app gets a new tab to download the page and also includes the ability to automatically resume any download later, if the connection is interrupted.

Lastly, Google has added a new content discovery feature to Chrome, wherein it will recommend pages to users, considering their browsing history and habits.

The new features are available on Chrome Beta version 54 & 55, and will soon roll out to public.
