Sony Xperia XA Ultra with 6-inch display, 16MP selfie camera gets official

At MWC 2016 in February, Sony Mobiles introduced Xperia X series including the Xperia X, Xperia X Performance and Xperia XA. Now the company has expanded the Xperia X line-up with the launch of Xperia XA Ultra.

The main highlight of Xperia XA Ultra is its 16-megapixel front camera that features Sony Exmor R Sensor, OIS (Optical Image Stablilization) for capturing shake-free selfies and LED flash. The main camera is 21.5-megapixel with f/2.4 aperture, Exmor RS sensor, Hybrid auto-focus, an LED flash, HDR photos, and auto-scene recognition.

As for the other specs, the Xperia XA Ultra comes with 6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display with Sony Bravia engine 2 and is powered by octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor backed by Mali T860 GPU and 3GB RAM. On-board storage is 16GB, which can be further expandable via microSD card (up to 200GB). It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and has dual-SIM support depending on markets. Connectivity duties are handled by 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and NFC. It is fueled by 2700mAh battery with Turbo fast charging support.

The Sony Xperia XA Ultra will go on sale in major markets in July this year. It comes in Lime Gold, Black and White color options. There is no word on pricing.
