nubia Z11 mini with 5-inch display, 3GB RAM, 16MP camera gets official


ZTE's sub-brand nubia has officially announced its latest mid-range smartphone, the nubia Z11 mini at an event in Beijing, China. The nubia Z11 mini has 2.5D curved glass on the back and front with a metal frame, giving it a premium look.

The nubia Z11 mini sports a 5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) LTPS display with 2.5D arc Gorilla Glass 3 portetcion on top. It is powered by octa-core Snapdragon 617 processor, further aided by Adreno 405 GPU and 3GB RAM. On-board storage is 64GB (eMMC 5.1), which can be expanded via microSD card (up to 200GB).

For photography it gets a 16-megapixel camera at the back with LED flash, Sony IMX298 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, 6P lens and PDAF. On the front there is 8-megapixel camera with 1.4um, f/2.4 aperture, 80-degree wide-angle lens for capturing selfies.

Connectibity duties are handled by 4G LTE (w/ VoLTE), WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/ac (2.4GHz & 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and USB Type-C. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with nubia UI 3.9.6 on top and houses Hybrid dual SIM slot, which means the second SIM slot can accept either a microSD card or SIM card. It is fueled by 2800mAh battery with fast charging support and has a fingerprint scanner on the back.

The ZTE nubia Z11 mini is priced at CNY 1499 ($231 | Rs.15,400) and is now up for pre-order in China. It will go on sale starting April 25.
