LG to start global roll out of X cam, X screen this week
LG has announced that it will start rolling out the new X-series smartphone, X Cam and X screen smartphone globally, starting from Korea this week.
The LG X screen is priced at 319,000 Won ($275 | Rs. 18,000) and comes in Black, White and Pink Gold colors. The LG X cam price will be announced closer to the local launch. It comes in Titan Silver, White, Gold and Pink Gold colors. Both the handset will be initially available in South Korea followed by key markets worldwide including Europe, Latin America and Asia.
To recall, the LG X cam and X screen were unveiled ahead of MWC 2016 event last month. The LG X cam sports dual camera setup on the rear and features 3D blending glass that gives it curved finish on the front. It also comes with camera-specific features like Animated Photo, Panorama view and Pop-out Picture.
"The X cam offers Pop-out Picture feature which combines the two images taken with the standard and wide angle lenses to create a picture-in-a-frame effect. Available only on the X cam, Animated Photo delivers a hybrid video and still photo, one framed by the other (http://on.fb.me/1pPxEd5). And Panorama View automatically scrolls a wide image instead of a static image and the Signature feature allows users to add a caption or byline after taking a photo."
The LG X screen gets an 1.76-inch 'Always On' second screen, similar to that of LG's V10. The second screen allows users to check basic information such as time, date and notifications without having to wake up the phone.
