Casio WSD-F10 is a rugged Android Wear smartwatch


Casio, makers of advanced digital watch and calculators has introduced its first rugged Android Wear smartwatch dubbed Casio WSD-F10. The smartwatch is water resistant up to 50 meters and is built with miltry grade specs (MIL-STD-810G) to withstand shocks and vibrations.

 The watch has large buttons with slip-free finish that can be operated while wearing gloves. The wristband is made of soft urethane plastic which makes it comfortable to wear. It comes with dedicated apps that measure and display information for outdoor sport and activities using the smartwatch's pressure sensor, compass and accelerometer.

 There is a physical TOOL button, when pressed, displays real-time information including compass direction, air pressure, altitude, sunrise and sunset times, tide graphs and activity graphs on the display. The smartwatch syncs with Casio's Moment Setter+ smartphone app to offer timing for activities such as trekking, cycling and fishing.

 As for the tech specs, the Casio WSD-F10 sports a circular 1.32-inch (320 x 300 pixels) dual layer display with both monochrome and color LCD. Users can customize the device with a range of watch faces. It supports Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity and is compatible with Android and iOS device. It offers one days of battery life and can charge to 100 percent in just 2 hours.


The Casio WSD-F10 is expected to be priced around $500 (Rs. 33,000) and will go on sale in the U.S and Japan in April 2016. It comes in Green, Orange, Black and Red colors.
