Amazon Fire Kids Edition tablet launched for $100

Amazon also launched a new tablet specifically designed for children, the Fire Kids Edition. It has the same features as the $50 Fire tablet, but has a rugged case, better warranty and FreeTime Unlimited service.

Amazon Fire Kids Edition sports 7-inch IPS display offering a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels and 171ppi and is powered by an 1.3GHz quad-core processor with 1GB RAM. On-board storage is 8GB (5GB available), further expandable via microSD card up to 128GB. It runs Fire OS 5 'Bellini' based on Android Lollipop and supports WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. Camerawise it sports 2-megapixel rear facing HD camera and 0.3-megapixel front shooter. It is fitted with a battery that is capable of providing 7 hours of usage. It comes in Pink and Blue kid-proof rugged bumper case.

The tablet comes with one year of Amazon FreeTime Unlimited service, 20,000 hand-curated and age appropriate websites and YouTube videos. It also comes with 2-year worry-free guarantee that Amazon will replace the tablet if it breaks.

Amazon Fire Kids Edition is priced at $99.99 and is available for pre-order via Amazon.com. Orders will be shipped starting September 30.
